British Nuclear Group at Sellafield recently distributed 10,000 DVD’s, to all site employees, to announce a World First for British Nuclear Group as the first operator of a nuclear reprocessing facility to join the World Association of Nuclear Operators (WANO), an organisation dedicated to improving the safety and reliability of nuclear power plants.
The DVD titled ’12 minutes’ has exactly 12 minutes to highlight a major achievement to all employees, at all levels, to mark an historic level of progressive attainment. Barry Snelson, Sellafield’s Managing Director launched the DVD as part of building an unimpeachable safety culture and ethos of continual improvement.
It is the latest in the series of communications programmes produced by eOrigen.com for the Nuclear sector and was produced in support of a general awareness campaign explaining the purpose and value of WANO membership to nuclear operators. It was also produced to highlight the strategic and developmental importance that WANO knowledge sharing and human performance programmes and resources offer. The message is carried by (often quite frank) personal experiences from a variety of employees who had been involved in a WANO peer review and highlights how they learned to objectify critical review comments in a way that enabled significant improvements to operational safety and efficiency.
eOrigen.com is recognised as a leading provider of DVD and elearning training programmes for multiple industry sectors and to date has produced over 30 training programmes with several more in production for the nuclear sector.
